bend the curve

“These are not the double-digit increases we were seeing in hospitalization rates or ICU rates that we saw even a week or so ago. That’s not to suggest by any stretch of the imagination that we’ll continue to see these declines. It’s only to reinforce the importance of maintaining physical distancing and continuing our stay-at-home policy that has helped bend the curve in the state of California,” explained Newsom. “But that curve continues to rise, just not at the slope that originally was projected without the kind of interventions, these non-pharmaceutical interventions like physical distancing have provided for us.”

"Let's bend the curve, not the rules." This was the key message from today's COVIDBC update with Dr. Bonnie Henry, Provincial Health Officer and Adrian Dix, Minister of Health.

Transparency and quick action helped Seoul, and South Korea, bend the curve, says mayor Park Won-soon.

Park Won-soon, Mayor of Seoul, has said that transparency and speed have been two key factors that helped the city, and South Korea, “bend the curve” against coronavirus infections through pre-emptive countermeasures.

https://www.macleans.ca/society/health/coronavirus...
The daily national increase in COVID-19 cases has stayed within a band of 1,100 and 1,800 cases since the end of March. A week ago, it took just five days for the number of cases in Canada to double. That factor has been slowly improving; based on yesterday’s increase, it will take nine days for a doubling to occur.
Trudeau's daily coronavirus update: 'The top of the curve may be in late spring' (Full transcript)
In the PM's April 9 briefing, he addressed the federal government's latest COVID-19 projections, stating the initial peak may be in late spring, with the first wave ending in summer
https://www.macleans.ca/news/canada/trudeau-corona...
