英国ではスナク蔵相が、従業員の雇用を維持した企業に対し従業員給与の最大8割を支給するという支援策（Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme）を発表した。この制度を利用した一時帰休のことをfurloughと呼んでいる。
Furloughという言葉は英国ではあまり馴染みがないため、これを説明する記事が多く出ている。
