上記WaPo記事にあるように、social distancingという表現が「社会的つながりを絶ち切ること」と解釈されうることについての懸念から生じた代替表現。うちら外国語としての英語利用者にとってもsocialよりphysicalのほうがわかりやすくてよいと思う。WHOが採用したとのことで、これからはphysicalが定着するか……
